Van Riper SM, et al. - In this study, researchers performed comparison of white matter (WM) integrity between Gulf War Veterans with chronic musculoskeletal pain (GVCMP) and matched, healthy Veteran controls (GVCO) and examined relationships between cerebral WM integrity and symptoms. They recognized widespread disruption of cerebral white matter microstructure across brain regions implicated in pain regulation in Gulf War Veterans suffering from chronic pain.
