Cerebral palsy after assisted reproductive technology: A cohort study
Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology Oct 09, 2017
Goldsmith S, et al. - This study intended to compute the birth prevalence of cerebral palsy (CP) following assisted reproductive technology (ART). It also pursued a comparative study of the clinical outcomes of children with CP after ART or natural conception. A two-fold rise was noted in the birth prevalence of CP, after ART. The residual risk persisted in singletons born very preterm, after stratification for gestational age and plurality. Tracking of birth prevalence of CP would aid in determining any impact of the variations towards the clinical practice.
