Lei L, et al. - This study hypothesized that restoration of regional cerebral oxygen desaturation would attenuate the incidence of postoperative delirium in elderly patients after cardiac surgery. Findings demonstrated an association of pre-operative regional cerebral oxygen saturation ≤ 50% with increased postoperative delirium rates in elderly cardiac surgery patients.
