Cerebral blood volume mapping with ferumoxytol in dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion MRI: Comparison to standard of care
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Jan 10, 2018
Varallyay CG, et al. - The clinicians performed this retrospective study to compare ferumoxytol dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) of 2 different doses to the standard of care gadoteridol by analyzing time-intensity curves and cerebral blood volume (CBV) maps in normal-appearing brain regions. In the case of DSC-MRI, 1 mg/kg ferumoxytol provided similar imaging results to standard gadoteridol. Two mg/kg ferumoxytol had a benefit of the increased contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), but could also result in mildly increased relative CBV (rCBV) values.
