Central blood pressure and cardiovascular outcomes in chronic kidney disease
Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Mar 02, 2018
Rahman M, et al. - In patients with CKD, the association of central and brachial BP measurements with the risk of cardiovascular outcomes and mortality was determined. Furthermore, the role of central BP measurement in conjunction with brachial BP in estimating cardiovascular risk was also determined. Elevated brachial and central BP measurements were both shown to be related to higher risk of cardiovascular disease outcomes. Measurement of central BP vs brachial BP did not improve the ability to predict cardiovascular disease outcomes or mortality in this patient population.
