Center-related variation in cardiac stress testing in the 18 months prior to renal transplantation
JAMA May 20, 2019
Shpigel AA, et al. - In this investigation, researchers looked at predictors and variations in stress testing during the 18 months preceding renal transplantation. Data reported that about 40% of end-stage renal disease patients have ischemic heart disease. Due to this high prevalence, in the pretransplant evaluation, many renal transplant centers evaluate patients for ischemic heart disease. There is little guidance on subsequent stress testing in asymptomatic people once accepted as a transplant candidate and placed on the waiting list.
