Shpigel AA, et al. - Researchers sought for the factors that are predictive of and for variation in stress testing in the 18 months prior to renal transplantation. Once accepted as a transplant candidate and placed on the waiting list, no guidance regarding subsequent stress testing in asymptomatic individuals has not been provided. In many renal transplant centers, patients are assessed for ischemic heart disease in the pretransplant evaluation as ischemic heart disease occurs in approximately 40% of patients with end-stage renal disease.
