Cell phone use and risk of thyroid cancer: A population-based case-control study in Connecticut
Annals of Epidemiology Nov 02, 2018
Luo J, et al. - Whether cell phone use is related to risk of thyroid cancer was explored in this population-based case-control study in Connecticut between 2010 and 2011, including 462 histologically confirmed thyroid cancer cases and 498 population-based controls. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) for associations between cell phone use and thyroid cancer were estimated using multivariate unconditional logistic regression. Findings revealed no significant link between cell phone use and thyroid cancer. For long-term and more frequent users, a suggestive increase in risk of thyroid microcarcinoma (tumor size ≤10mm) was observed and deserves further exploration.
