Celiac disease prevalence in a large series of patients with Behcet's disease

Kocak E, et al. - Authors evaluated the prevalence of celiac disease (CD) in Turkish patients with Behcet's disease. They also assessed the endoscopic findings in these patients. Positive anti-gliadin and tissue transglutaminase antibody immunoglobulin A (IgA) and IgG antibodies were seen in 4.2% of patients with BD. In these patients, the prevalence of biopsy-confirmed CD was 1.05%. As per data, antral gastritis, duodenitis, and esophagitis were the most common endoscopic findings of patients with BD.
