CD8+ T cells with characteristic T cell receptor beta motif are detected in blood and expanded in synovial fluid of ankylosing spondylitis patients

Komech EA, et al. - In healthy donors and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients, the repertoire of T cell receptor (TCR) sequences was investigated by the experts to uncover AS-linked TCR variants. Findings revealed that in AS pathogenesis, a particular antigen-specific subset of CD8+ T cells was involved. The high resemblance of the clonotypes to the ones found in ReA implied common mechanisms for the commencement of the diseases.
