CCR5 and CXCL12 allelic variants: Possible association with childhood neuroblastoma susceptibility?
Journal of Neuroimmunology Mar 05, 2020
Filho DRMV, Amarante MK, Ishibashi CM, et al. - Given that neuroblastoma (NB) is a heterogeneous and especially malignant childhood neoplasm in its higher stages and a possible involvement of chemokines and their receptors present as mediators of neuroinflammation, researchers here investigated if NB is associated with CCR5 (rs333) and CXCL12 (rs1801157) allelic variants. The analysis revealed a correlation of CCR5 (rs333) and CXCL12 (rs1801157) allelic variants with NB. For CCR5 (rs333) D32 carriers and for CXCL12 genotype 3′A/3′A, they observed statistically significant difference as well to allelic frequency. They did not verify any correlation concerning prognostic parameters for CCR5 and CXCL12, but these polymorphisms may be linked with NB susceptibility.
