Tosif S, et al. - Researchers conducted a registry-based retrospective cohort study at three provincial hospitals and the National Referral Hospital from 2014–2016 inclusive to explain the perinatal mortality and clinical factors correlated with poor newborn outcomes at four hospitals in the Solomon Islands. A total of 23,966 labor ward births and 3,148 special care nursery admissions were analyzed. Stillbirths estimated for 81% of perinatal deaths. Moreover, for planning quality improvement at the provincial level, these results were beneficial.
