Carpal tunnel release with a new mini-incision approach vs a conventional approach, a retrospective cohort study
International Journal of Surgery Apr 24, 2018
Bai J, et al. - Researchers aimed to introduce a new method to perform carpal tunnel release (CTR) through a 1.5–2.0 cm long incision (a new mini-incision approach) and to compare the effectiveness and safety of this approach to the conventional one. Mini-incision approach and conventional approach were observed to have similar decompression effect. Patients with mini-incision approach had fewer complications than those with conventional approach. They thus identified patients with mini-incision approach to have satisfactory surgical outcomes, low postoperative complications, and good appearance.
