Carotid endarterectomy after systemic thrombolysis in stroke patients: A retrospective comparative analysis
Journal of Vascular Surgery Aug 25, 2018
Fortin W, et al. - Patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy (CEA) after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) were evaluated regarding the hemorrhagic and overall outcomes, and these outcomes were compared with that of a similar population. The data of 170 consecutive patients who have undergone CEA after stroke from January 2011 to December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed; 26 (15.1%) of them had undergone previous IVT. Findings revealed similar hemorrhagic and overall outcomes among patients with CEA after IVT vs the overall stroke-CEA population.
