Becattini C, et al. - In a multicenter, prospective study, the association between carotid atherosclerosis and risk for ischemic stroke was investigated in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) on treatment with vitamin K antagonists. While AF patients were on anticoagulant therapy, carotid atherosclerosis was noted to be a predictor for the composite of cerebrovascular events or death.
