Fahndrich S, et al. - This study was performed in alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) patients within the German COPD cohort study COSYCONET (“COPD and SYstemic consequences-COmorbidities NETwork”) cohort in order to analyze the clinical phenotype of AATD patients, emphasizing on the distribution of comorbidities. Findings demonstrated an association of AATD with a lower prevalence of cardiovascular disease.
