Cardiovascular outcomes associated with crush vs provisional stenting techniques for bifurcation lesions: A systematic review and meta-analysis
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders Apr 27, 2019
Huang F, et al. - Researchers analyzed six studies with 2220 participants, to systematically compare crush vs provisional stenting techniques for bifurcation lesions, focusing on cardiovascular outcomes after the intervention. They included relevant English publications identified from Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, EMBASE, the Cochrane Central and www.ClinicalTrials.gov. Crush stenting technique was used in 1085 participants and provisional stenting technique in 1135 participants. Significantly lower major adverse cardiac events and repeated revascularization without any change in mortality, myocardial infarction and stent thrombosis were observed in relation to crush stenting technique vs the provisional technique.
