Age and Aging May 05, 2018
Kurl S, et al. - Researchers aimed at examining the relationship of cardiorespiratory fitness, as indicated by maximal oxygen uptake, with subsequent incidence of dementia. In this population-based cohort study with an average follow-up of 22 (range 0.22–29.8) years from eastern Finland, about 2,031 men with a mean age of 52.8 years of age and no history of dementia or pulmonary disease at baseline participated. As per findings, low cardiorespiratory fitness was associated with an increased risk of dementia.
