Cardiac MRI predictors of good long-term outcomes in patients with repaired TOF
American Heart Journal Dec 09, 2021
Majeed A, Geva T, Sleeper LA, et al. - Researchers herein sought for cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) markers of a good clinical course late after tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair.
From the International Multicenter TOF Registry (INDICATOR), clinical and CMR data were retrieved for analysis.
A total of 1,088 patients were included; of these, 96 had good outcome, 60 experienced poor outcome, and 932 had intermediate outcome.
Per findings, there will be no serious adverse clinical events in the sixth decade of life and less necessity for frequent cardiac testing among adults with repaired TOF and no more than mild RV dysfunction combined with no significant RV hypertrophy.
