Olfson M, et al. - This research was conducted to determine whether cannabis use was correlated with a change in the risk of incident nonmedical prescription opioid use and opioid use disorder at 3-year follow-up. Cannabis use appeared to increase the risk of developing nonmedical prescription opioid use and opioid use disorder, rather than decreasing it.
