Cancer pain management in China: Current status and practice implications based on the ACHEON survey

Xia Z - This investigation presents the data gathered for cancer pain management in mainland China, with an emphasis on practices related to opioid drugs. The obtained data indicate that among physicians, knowledge of cancer pain management must be strengthened. To achieve pain relief, quantitative pain assessment and principle-based pain management should be combined. Through training/education, misconceptions about opioids in patients and physicians and poor report about pain need to be overcome to improve quality of life (QoL) of patients impacted by pain.
