Cancer and SARS-CoV-2 infection: A third-level hospital experience

Calvo V, Fernandez-Cruz A, Nuñez B, et al. - This study was undertaken to explore the mortality rates of patients with cancer, particularly those with lung cancer and COVID-19. Between March 1 to April 30, 2020, researchers included a total of 653 patients receiving active cancer therapy at Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro, Majadahonda, Madrid (Spain). The findings demonstrate that individuals with cancer, particularly lung cancer, and SARS-CoV-2 infection have a worse overall prognosis than the general population.
