Hui S, et al. - Researchers, herein, analyzed evidence on the efficacy of tranexamic acid (TXA) in conserving blood and saving operative time in spine surgeries. In the literature data, the significance of intravenous TXA use was highlighted, with respect to conserving blood and saving operative time in spinal surgeries. Data also reported the efficacy of high dose TXA in significantly attenuating intraoperative/ perioperative allogeneic transfusion rates and operative time, while no such benefits were seen with low dose TXA.
