Can the number of eosinophils in adenoid and tonsil tissue determine the allergy in children?
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Feb 15, 2018
Ekici NY, et al. - The purpose of this trial was to evaluate the association between the allergy and the number of eosinophils in the adenoid and tonsil tissue. By looking at the number of eosinophils in the adenoid and tonsil tissue, presence of sensitization could be distinguished. It was noted that the number of eosinophils could be used for finding out if the patient was allergic or not. It was discovered that the routine hematoxylin-eosin stained adenotonsillary specimen analysis for eosinophilia would assist in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis and also reduce the cost considerably.
