Hatch JL, et al. – The experts evaluated the ability of preoperative computed tomography (CT) to predict facial nerve stimulation (FNS) after cochlear implantation (CI). In investigations, CT scan measurements displayed a significantly reduced distance between the labyrinthine facial nerve and the basal turn of the cochlea in patients with FNS. However, based on these measurements it was difficult to predict FNS in patients after CI.
