Can MR enterography screen for perianal disease in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease?
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nov 18, 2017
AlSabban Z, et al. - This research was conducted in order to investigate if Magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) accurately detected perianal disease (PAD) in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (PIBD), distinguishing perianal fistulae (PAF) from perianal abscesses (PAA), referenced against pelvic MRI (P-MRI). The inference drawn was that MRE could detect PAD with high specificity and moderate sensitivity in PIBD, missing some PAF and small PAA, with the aid of a standard technique.
