Caesarean birth and risk of subsequent preterm birth: A retrospective cohort study
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Oct 15, 2020
Williams C, Fong R, Murray S, et al. - Via performing this retrospective cohort study of 16,340 women with first two consecutive singleton births and the first birth at term, researchers here investigated the risk of spontaneous and medically indicated preterm birth linked with mode of birth in previous term born pregnancy. Outcomes suggest correlation of term cesarean in the first stage of labor or performed prelabour with medically indicated preterm birth. In addition, term cesarean in the second stage of labor was noted to be linked with spontaneous preterm birth.
