Guilbaud T, et al. - The value of serum C-reactive protein on the postoperative day 1 as early predictor of pancreatic fistula and pancreas-specific complications was ascertained. In the current work, C-reactive protein levels proved to be reliable predictors for risk of pancreatic fistula, pancreas-specific complications, and hospital readmission. They recommended incorporating these levels in risk-stratified management algorithms after pancreaticoduodenectomy.
