C-reactive protein is an independent prognostic marker in patients with tongue carcinoma - A retrospective study
Clinical Otolaryngology Apr 25, 2018
Graupp M, et al. - Authors probed the role of C-reactive protein (CRP) and neutrophils/lymphocytes (NLR) in the prognosis of patients with tongue carcinoma. The role of CRP as an independent prognostic marker in patients with tongue carcinoma could be confirmed in this study. They noted a significant association of elevated CRP with shorter overall survival in this cohort in uni- and multivariate analysis. In prognostication, incorporating this marker could represent a valuable and moreover inexpensive tool for improved decisions making concerning therapy in the future.
