Bronchiectasis in severe asthma: Clinical features and outcomes

Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Mar 04, 2018

Coman I, et al. - The prevalence of bronchiectasis among severe asthmatics was determined. The clinical features of these patients and their outcomes were also studied. More frequent hospitalizations, concomitant gastroesophageal reflux disease, hypersensitivity to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and higher blood eosinophilia were noted in relation to the presence of bronchiectasis in subjects with severe asthma. Bronchiectasis could represent an additional phenotypic feature of severe eosinophilic asthma.
