Histopathology Oct 10, 2019
Jones JL, Hanby AM, Wells C, et al. - In this paper, experts analyzed what was known of the incidence of the breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL, an uncommon complication related greatly to textured implants), current mentality on pathogenesis, patterns of presentation and pathological characteristics to give standard guidelines for its diagnosis. A total of 518 cases throughout 25 countries were discovered. Of breast implants, BIA-ALCL was seen to be a rare, however, notable complication. While identified by CD30-positive neoplastic cells this should be interpreted with care, and pathological guidelines for the powerful diagnosis of this lesion as well as the most relevant staging system and management approaches was given. At last, mechanisms for the standard central reporting of all cases was suggested in order to produce more exact data on incidence.
