Breast cancer risk factors and circulating anti-müllerian hormone concentration in healthy premenopausal women

Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism Jun 27, 2021

Clendenen TV, Ge W, Koenig KL, et al. - A cross-sectional study was conducted to explore if risk factors for breast cancer are correlates of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) concentration. Researchers recruited a total of 3,831 healthy premenopausal women (aged 21-57, 87% aged 35-49). The outcomes demonstrate that this is the largest research of AMH and breast cancer risk factors among women from the general population (not presenting with infertility), and implies that most of the relationships are limited to women over 40, who are approaching menopause and whose AMH concentration is declining.
