Brain MRI characteristics of patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis and their associations with 2-year clinical outcome
American Journal of Neuroradiology May 18, 2018
Zhang T, et al. - Researchers examined the brain MR imaging characteristics of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis and their relationships with clinical outcome at a 2-year follow-up. For this investigation, fifty-three patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis were recruited and performed 2-year follow-up. In half of the patients, normal brain MRI findings were observed. The most common MR imaging abnormal finding were the lesions in the hippocampus. In patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis, the presence of hippocampal lesions was the main MR imaging predictor for poor prognosis.
