Brain metastases from adult sarcoma: Prognostic factors and impact of treatment- A retrospective analysis from the French Sarcoma Group (GSF/GETO)
The Oncologist Jun 29, 2018
Chaigneau L, et al. - In this retrospective study performed in 15 centers of the French Sarcoma Group, plus one Canadian and one Swiss center, researchers studied clinical, histological, and treatment characteristics of brain metastases (BM) from adult soft tissue or bone sarcomas to assess predictive factors of the outcome. They found BM of sarcomas were rare and were related to a dismal outcome. A better survival was reported in relation to a multidisciplinary management including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. Chemotherapy, surgery, stereotactic radiotherapy, whole-brain radiotherapy, and grade were found to have an influence on overall survival, as revealed in the multivariate analysis.
