Brain malformations do not predict hypopituitarism in young children with optic nerve hypoplasia

Garcia–Filion P, et al. – The specialists reviewed prospective findings on the association of hypopituitarism with brain malformations in children with optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH). They discovered that hypopituitarism and brain malformations were highly prevalent, but had unrelated associations with ONH. Thus, brain MRI was an unreliable screen in infants and toddlers with ONH for analyzing hypopituitarism risk.
