Macdonald HM, et al. - The clinicians determined whether bone strength deficits observed at baseline remained after two years. Following a forearm fracture in girls, deficits in distal radius bone strength and trabecular bone microarchitecture appeared to track across two years, but not in boys. Longer follow-up was required to determine whether deficits persisted into adulthood in women and how they could influence future risk of fragility fracture.
