Xing WM, et al. - A meta-analysis was conducted to verify the existing link between bone mineral density (BMD) and chronic heart failure (CHF). Lower total BMD and femoral neck, arm, leg, or trochanter BMD were measured in patients with CHF versus patients with non-CHF. Also, it was noted that vitamin D was reduced, whereas parathyroid hormone was increased, with the severity of CHF.
