Blood sugar changes and hospital mortality in multiple trauma
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Oct 25, 2017
Torabi M, et al. - This work was designed to assess the exact time of blood sugar measurement and the role of blood sugar changes in the monitoring of multiple trauma patients. Blood sugar changes in the early hours of admission to the emergency department could facilitate predicting hospital mortality in these patients, however, further studies were recommended. During this time frame, blood sugar monitoring could be helpful in predicting these patients' outcomes. Furthermore, coagulopathy and tachycardia seemed to have a significant association with hospital mortality.
