Blood pressure variability predicts poor in-hospital outcome in spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage
Stroke Jul 27, 2019
Divani AA, et al. - Via collecting ten-years of consecutive data of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients at two healthcare systems, researchers examined if systolic blood pressure variability (SBPV) and in-hospital ICH outcome were connected. The study sample consisted of 762 patients. Findings suggested that, among ICH patients, an association of higher SBPV during the first 24 hours of admission with adverse in-hospital outcome was seen. Investigators found that the likelihood of hematoma expansion was not significantly correlated with any of the SBPV indices.
