Blood pressure variability and neurologic outcome after endovascular thrombectomy: A Secondary analysis of the BEST study
Stroke Dec 17, 2019
Mistry EA, Mehta T, Mistry AK, et al. – Via performing a post hoc analysis of the Blood Pressure after Endovascular Therapy for Ischemic Stroke study, which included anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke patients who underwent endovascular treatment (EVT; n = 443), experts determined the relationship between blood pressure variability (BPV) and poor outcome or death (90-day modified Rankin Scale, 3–6). They noted that, in EVT-treated stroke patients, higher BPV in the first 24 hours was linked to worse 90-day outcome, and this correlation was more pronounced for systolic BPV.
