Blood lipid profile and body composition in a pediatric population with different levels of physical activity
Lipids in Health and Disease Jul 31, 2018
Baran J, et al. - In the present study, researchers examined body composition, lipid and lipoprotein profiles among children and adolescents stratified according to their level of physical activity via the data of 69 participants that ranged from 6 to 17 years of age. Findings revealed that almost half (47.8%) of the participants did not meet daily moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) recommendations. Results of this study suggested that participants who met daily recommended MVPA were found to have more favorable high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and body fat levels compared to individuals who did not meet these recommendations.
