Blood glucose concentrations in prehospital trauma patients with traumatic shock: A retrospective analysis
European Journal of Anaesthesiology Dec 13, 2017
Kreutziger J, et al. - The main focus of this investigation was to elucidate the link between traumatic shock and prehospital blood glucose concentrations. Additionally, the additional predictive value of prehospital blood glucose concentration vs vital parameters alone for traumatic shock was determined in this study. Among adult trauma patients, those with traumatic shock were more commonly detected as having low and high blood glucose concentrations. Patients at risk of traumatic shock may be recognized by taking into account prehospital blood glucose concentration measurements in addition to common vital parameters.
