Mendy A, et al. - This study involved testing of a panel of blood biomarkers (C-reactive protein [CRP], neutrophils, eosinophils, albumin and vitamin D) as predictors of mortality in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Researchers identified that high CRP and neutrophils as well as low eosinophils predicted poor COPD prognosis and added significant value to prediction models of mortality in COPD.
