Birth-weight discordance and neonatal morbidity in twin pregnancy: Analysis of STORK multiple pregnancy cohort
Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology Oct 12, 2018
D'Antonio F, et al. - In twin pregnancy progressing to ≥ 34 weeks of gestation, researchers investigated the relationship between weight discordance and neonatal morbidity. They also assessed the predictive accuracy of different weight discordance cut-offs in predicting neonatal morbidity in twin pregnancy in this retrospective, multicenter, cohort study of all twin pregnancies booked for antenatal care at four hospitals over a 10-year period. Findings revealed an independent association of intertwin birth-weight discordance with the risk of neonatal morbidity in twins born after 34 weeks' gestation, irrespective of chorionicity or diagnosis of small-for-gestational-age in either twin. However, its predictive accuracy for neonatal morbidity was poor.
