Birth outcomes between 22‐26 weeks' gestation in national population‐based cohorts from Sweden, England and France
Acta Pediatrica Sep 07, 2021
Morgan AS, Zeitlin J, Källén K, et al. - Extremely preterm births were identified to exhibit differences in survival and morbidity outcomes even after adjusting for background characteristics. There appeared no clear correlation between early mortality and later patterns of morbidity.
On harmonizing data, they involved data of 769 EXPRESS cohort fetuses(Sweden, 2004-07), 2,310 EPICure-2 cohort fetuses (England, 2006) and 1,359 EPIPAGE-2 cohort fetuses (France, 2011).
EPIPAGE-2 had the most marked deaths before 1 day at 22-23 and 24 weeks GA.
At 25 weeks, variation in survival was observed before 28 days; minimal differences were noted at 26 weeks.
