Biological significance of anti-GH antibodies in children treated with rhGH
Hormone Research in Paediatrics Apr 09, 2019
Binder G, et al. - In this laboratory-based retrospective study over 6 years, researchers investigated the clinical significance of anti-GH antibodies (measured using a radioprecipitation assay) by examining the phenotype of those testing positive in relation to the quantity of anti-GH antibodies. Positive test results were seen in 28 samples from 13 patients out of a total of 104 samples from 66 patients. It appears that only patients with high anti-GH antibodies concentrations are subject to the biological implication of anti-GH antibodies. They advise a careful “wait and see” approach and antibody titer monitoring for all other patients.
