Bilateral or unilateral antegrade cerebral perfusion during surgery for acute type A dissection

The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Jul 11, 2019

Angleitner P, et al. - Researchers examined patients who underwent surgery for type A dissection (TAD) with the application of antegrade cerebral perfusion (ACP) for outcomes associated with the application of either bilateral or unilateral ACP (b-ACP, u-ACP) during surgery for acute TAD. Findings revealed comparable outcomes with b-ACP and u-ACP after surgery for TAD. As per sub-group analyses, patients requiring ACP durations ≥ 50 min show superior overall survival in correlation to b-ACP.
