Sun Y, et al. - The researchers conducted this meta-analysis to draw a comparison between the outcomes of bilateral lateral rectus recession (BLR) and unilateral recession resection (R&R) procedures for the treatment of basic intermittent exotropia. They concluded that in patients with basic intermittent exotropia, the conventional R&R procedure was associated with higher success rates and lower recurrence rates.
