Bilateral erector spinae plane block for postoperative analgesia in laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials
Pain Practice Oct 28, 2020
Daghmouri MA, Akremi S, Chaouch MA, et al. - Via this meta‐analysis, researchers investigated the analgesic efficacy of erector spinae plane (ESP) block in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Inclusion was performed of a total of five RCTs involving 250 patients (124 in the ESP block group vs 126 in the control group). Findings suggest effectiveness of bilateral ultrasound‐guided ESP block in reducing opioid consumption and the time to first rescue analgesic and indicate it as a safe technique in adults undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
