Bi-directional association between sleep and outdoor active play among 10–13 year olds
BMC Public Health Feb 14, 2018
Lin Y, et al. - This inquiry was set up to investigate if there exists a bi-directional link between sleep characteristics (time in bed, sleep duration, sleep chronology, and sleep efficiency) and time spent participating in outdoor active play among children. Researchers noted that the following day’s outdoor active play was not predicted by any of the sleep characteristics. In addition, they identified that increase time spent in outdoor active play predicted a longer time in bed, but not sleep duration, sleep chronology, or sleep efficiency.
